CONTROL SYSTEM PROCEDURE
Aim/Objective
To provide amongst others, the basis for routine
checks and control to actual activities performed by field staff in order to ensure high quality data delivery to our clients
at all times.
SCOPE OF SERVICE
The activities in the quality department includes
Briefing – To ensure total quality
in every aspect of data collection, briefing must be thorough and all stakeholders taken part in project execution, including
project Mgr. Supervisors and Interviewers must be present in the briefing section. Quality control ensures strict compliance.
QC officer at the briefing session will take note of any amendment/correction made on questionnaires and use when editing.
Trial
and Pilot
Validation – Validation ensures
that sample locations and size, target groups, agreed sampling method etc are strictly adhered to by field staff. Validation
ensure full understanding of questionnaires operation by interviewers and information on operated questionnaires truly represent
respondents’ opinion. Therefore, Quality control, monitors field activities by ensuring that fieldwork is well coordinated
and thoroughly supervised fro quality data delivery to our client/end users.
During validation, we can for joint review of questionnaires operated and debrief if necessary.
5-10% of project sample size in the study locations is usually validated. This is randomly selected across all the participating
interviewers.
Some key questions e.g Brand usage, favorite
brand, frequency of usage, Household durable/composition, Age, Social Economic Class etc will be reconfirmed during validation
process.
Editing: When editing, we check routine
instruction, respondents consistency, grammar errors, relevancy of answer to question and accurate coding. Tools needed to
assist us in coding are interviewers’ instruction and editing guide if available.
Preparation
of coding frame and coding - 20-30% of total sample size is usually use of extraction of code
frame. After which, it is sent to project manager for editing and vetting before 100% coding commence.
